On January 22, the China-Uzbekistan Inter-local Enterprise Matchmaking Meeting was held in Urumqi. At the scene, Xinjiang CCPIT signed memorandums of cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tashkent City and the Investment, Industry and Trade Bureau of Khorezm Oblast of Uzbekistan, respectively, and 18 enterprises on the Chinese side reached a signing agreement with the Uzbek side on 18 projects, with a signing amount of 44.67 million U.S. dollars.
The Matchmaking Conference was co-hosted by the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China and the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, and organized by Xinjiang Council for the Promotion of International Trade (XCPIT). More than 1,000 enterprise representatives from China and Uzbekistan sought cooperation and talked about mutual benefit and win-win situation through precise matching of supply and demand before the meeting, docking and cooperation during the meeting, and follow-up operation after the meeting, focusing on the fields of agriculture, textile, energy, trade and logistics, finance, and e-commerce.
Under the strategic leadership of the heads of state of the two countries, China-Uzbekistan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has continued to consolidate and expand, deepen and implement, and the exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in the fields of politics, economy and trade, culture and other areas have been continuously strengthened.2023, the party and government chiefs in charge of a number of provinces and regions, such as Xinjiang, Shaanxi, Shandong, Anhui and other provinces and regions, led a delegation to visit Uzbekistan, and China has continued to maintain its position as the largest trade partner of Uzbekistan, with a bilateral trade turnover of around 12.2 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 21.3% of Uzbekistan's foreign trade, China has become Uzbekistan's largest source of imports and the second largest export destination.
Mr. An Tao, Vice President of Xinjiang CCPIT, said that Xinjiang is at the forefront of China-Uzbekistan cooperation, and has been increasingly close to Uzbekistan in various fields, and the exchanges and cooperation between the two sides have continued to deepen. Xinjiang Council for the Promotion of International Trade (XCPIT) will promote deep-level exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Uzbek enterprises, expand the space for cooperation between the two sides in the fields of production capacity, economy and trade, and organize activities such as China (Xinjiang)-Uzbekistan Commodity Exhibition.
We handed over dried fruit producers from Samarkand and Syrdarya oblasts of Uzbekistan at the exhibition and became interested in dried fruits (prunes, dried apricots) etc. from Uzbekistan and gained a more comprehensive understanding of importing such products.
