I'm having to get this http://www.ultimatehandyman.co.uk/forum ... 81546.html internal cement render ready for our plasterer to skim. Unfortunately the render was applied with the intension of hiding it behind plasterboard and is fairly uneven and has one or two cracks/slightly blown parts already (as I suspected would happen). My plaster says he will hard wall out from window frame a little to even it outProblem is;

What's the best way to key dried render? And how deep/far apart?
Should I even let him plaster cracking render?
Would it be best to add more hard wall or render to straighten up most of the wall first?
Ps - It doesn't need to be completely flat & I don't mind a few cracks, it's an old house. I'd prefer not to dry wall if possible, as it would be the only room in the house.
Perhaps you would be best to leave it to your Plasterer! Any plasterer worth his salt would have no problem sorting that wall.He would perhaps uUnibond the existing render to key, then probably straighten/plumb it up with a coat of Bonding as required.Followed by the skim coat.To answer your questions:1) You would key this surface with a coat of Unibond immediatly prior to plastering .2) Not a problem3) The answer is yes, but leave it to your Spread.
