China's first independently designed and implemented ultra-deep and large displacement well, well A1H of Enping 21-4 oilfield, has been put into production in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, with a daily crude oil production of more than 700 tons, CNOOC announced last Wednesday. The well drilled to a depth of 9,508 meters and a horizontal displacement of 8,689 meters, becoming China's first deep offshore well and setting a record for the length of horizontal drilling, marking China's successful achievement of the technical bottleneck of the 10,000-meter-long large displacement well, and the offshore ultra-long and ultra-deep drilling technology entering the forefront of the world.
The Enping 21-4 oilfield developed by the ultra-deep well is located about 200 kilometers southwest of Shenzhen, with an average water depth of about 86 meters, belonging to a small marginal sandstone oilfield. If the traditional mode of mining is adopted, new offshore production platforms or underwater wellheads and other facilities need to be built, with large investment and long construction period.CNOOC uses the Enping 20-5 unmanned platform 8 kilometers away to implement the ultra-deep and large displacement well, which can efficiently develop the oil and gas resources of marginal oilfields.
